Loneliness op. 50 (2017)

- for solo flute

There are several influences in the piece; Lepo Sumera’s (Pantomim - 1981) and Anders Hillborg’s (Peacock tales - 1998) musical world. But the leitmotif is the famous aria from Puccini’s Tosca. The two faces of this “letter aria” can be discovered in the Loneliness: “cantabile doloroso, amaro, esclamare, addio - or passando, giocoso” - some instructions in the score. “My dream of love is gone for ever. The time is gone, and I'm dying in despair! And I have never before loved life so much” - in the score can be find” - excerpt from the text of the Puccini’s aria.

The dedication of the piece is addressed to Gergely Matuz, whose inspirations helped the creation of the composition.
